Creating a country vibe couples photoshoot feat. a full couples photo gallery

Today, I was looking at a bunch of different audios as I worked to create another reel for my photography Instagram account. (Shameless plug to go follow it if you don’t already - you can find me at @brynpower.photography). And that is when I came across this country song that was blowing up on the internet: “you look like you love me” by Ella Langley and Riley Green. It brought me back to a shoot I did last year with an old college friend and her boyfriend, and it had all the country vibes.

Right as my friend and I were planning the shoot, she texted me asking if she could bring her cowboy hat and boots. My response? Um absolutely.

I was super down for the feel it would bring to the shoot, and to be totally honest, it was the first country-themed shoot I had ever done.

Location: I chose a location in Danville, California which is located here in the East Bay, and the green hills combined with golden hour and a view PERFECTLY set the country scene.

Poses and energy: The energy Jelly and Joey brought to the shoot made goofiness pop right out of the photos I swear. I know that sounds cheesy, but tell me I am wrong once you look at the photos below. Each pose we ran through plus all of the ones that came naturally just clicked with the setting and country vibes.

And… not to mention the fact that Jelly’s cowboy hat and boots functioned perfectly as props and apparel at the same time.

Also part of the shoot was a set of photos we took amidst these stunning blossom trees (not positive if they were cherry blossoms although they sure looked like them) right down the street from the hill we took the sunset photos at. While these aimed a little less country vibe, I felt like they added an element of sweetness and tenderness to the goofy playful shoot we had planned on the hill.

I truly have to say, this shoot has been one of my favorites to date of my photography career. The goofiness and fun of the couple plus combo of the golden hour and blossom trees created photos out of my dreams, no joke.

If you like what you saw and you’re interested in booking your own shoot, whether it is couples, family, engagements/proposals, or otherwise, inquire with me here on my website. I look forward to hearing a bit about your story and how I can partner with you to capture a significant moment in your life <3
